Travel to Oslo, Norway
From Oslo Airport Gardermoen to Clarion Collection Hotel Gabelshus
By train: From the airport, it is recommended that participants use the train that goes in the city center direction
to Nationaltheatret (27 minutes), choose the exit marked “Henrik Ibsens Gate” and walk to the Hotel from there (13 minute walk). See map here.
While walking you may enjoy
The Norwegian Nobel Institute building at your immediate right hand - HQ of the Nobel Peace Prize
The National Library - at your left hand side
The Hydro Park, a park located outside of Norway’s largest companies. The park exhibits art honoring the illegal press during WW2. The park will be at your right hand side.
to Oslo Central Station (23 minutes) and take a taxi from there to the Hotel (13 minutes).
By Taxi: Directly to the hotel (40 minutes). Please note that we strongly recommend booking a taxi before departure at the taxi booking kiosk located outside the terminal at ground level in the same area where taxis pick up passengers. We caution against getting into a taxi without a pre-booking or making arrangements directly with a taxi driver outside or inside the terminal.
Public Transportation:
Ruter is the name of the public transportation system. City buses, regional buses, trams, subway/metro, local trains and ferries (not the Bygdøy ferry) are all included in Ruter's ticket system. Tickets can be purchased from any of Ruter's sales points (cash, credit) or through their app "Ruter billett" or "Ruter". Tickets cost NOK 20 more when purchased on board and must be paid by cash. To travel by subway/metro or tram, you must always pre-purchase a ticket. We recommend downloading ‘Ruter’, a ticket app for easy purchase of tickets. Travel cards can be purchased at service centers and at most kiosks like Narvesen.
